My Class for a Day
All visiting teachers were assigned a class for the day… we would have lunch with the class and spend time with them – answering questions (if possible), getting to know them, etc…
My “favorite student” –
The girl in yellow (I don’t know her name) was SO nice to me… she kept trying to talk to me and was extremely friendly. She was my lunch budy. I wish I could have spoken to the kids – I feel like the experience was only half as amazing as it could have been (which is still pretty darn amazing)…

Hey Jeff:
You seem as if you are happier there than you are here. I know that it must be an amazing experience. We missed you in class the other night, but after seeing your blog, I know that the feelings are not mutual. These children are ADORABLE. I like that they eat lunch in their classrooms. They seem much more mature that our children, but still child-like.

You nailed it… I’m not sure if they’re more mature per se… but definitely more responsible. They are still kids – we saw plenty of goofball activity, but once the teacher came in – they quieted down, the mutual bowing took place and it was off to work. Time and place for everything I suppose. On another note, I hope I don’t appear unhappy in NY (I’m really not), but this is such a unique and amazing time that it’s hard not to be enthused (when one is not exhausted). I am looking forward to coming home and seeing everyone again. Our kids are cute too!
